2 scholars of Nankai ASC, Prof. Zhongli Liu and Assoc. Prof. Chenyang Liu, were present at the APEC 2007 Annual Conference of ASC Consortium in Melbourne, Australia on 18-20 April 2007. The aim of the conference is to explore contemporary issues on APEC’s agenda and around this regional growth such as energy security and demand, governance, climate change and trade liberalization and to build policy frameworks that will foster development of Australia’s strategic goals for APEC in 2007. Some 60 scholars from all the 21 APEC member economies attended the conference. On behalf of ASCNK, Assoc. Prof. Liu handed out a paper entitled “Options for Asia-Pacific Economic Integration” at the conference.
Australia is the host of APEC 2007 Fora, and this conference is supposed to be in an official part of the APEC Australia 2007 schedule of meetings.
