The video conference on Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation under the influence of new coronavirus was held online by the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation in May 15, 2020. Professor Liu Chenyang, director of APEC Study Center; Cao Yuanzheng, chairman of BOC International Research Co., Ltd.; Chen Wenling, chief economist of China International Exchange Center; Chen Fengying, researcher of China Institute of modern international relations; Jiang Yuechun, researcher of China Institute of international studies; and Zhang Jianping, researcher of the Institute of international trade and economic cooperation, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, experts conducted in-depth discussions on the international political and economic situation under the epidemic situation, the prospects for the construction of global industrial chain, supply chain and service chain, the development direction of APEC multilateral mechanism, the trend of economic cooperation in the Asia Pacific region, the opportunities and challenges of cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea, the impact of the epidemic on the existing international financial environment, and the current situation and future of Sino US relations.
