On March 25-27, 2018, the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) hosted the APEC after 2020 expert seminar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Experts from China, the United States, New Zealand, Malaysia and other PECC members, and the PECC international secretary, A total of more than 20 representatives from the Office and the APEC International Secretariat attended the seminar. Professor Liu Chenyang, director of APEC Research Center, was invited to attend the meeting as a representative of Chinese experts.
APEC after 2020 is a flagship research project initiated by PECC, led by the Malaysian National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation and the New Zealand National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation. The project will plan the guiding principles, cooperation methods and priority areas of APEC cooperation after 2020, and provide a basis for the dialogue and consultation between the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council and APEC.
At the seminar, Director Liu Chenyang gave a keynote speech on the guiding principles, core goals and cooperation paths of APEC cooperation after 2020, and conducted full discussions and exchanges with participating experts.
