Professor Chang Jianhua was invited to attend the seminar of "History Textbook of Higher Education Writing Planning" held by the Ministry of Education
The College History Teaching Steering Committee of ministry of Education organized the seminar which called "History Textbook of Higher Education Writing Planning", at Yuelu Academy of Hunan university, October 16- 17. More than 40 experts and scholars from Chinese universities attended the conference. Chen chunsheng, Chairman of the Steering Committee and Secretary of SYSU, Dengwei, Secretary of HNU attended the opening ceremony and gave the speech. Committee members made discussions about the writing and planning of key history textbooks, the construction of high-level history education system and the improvement of personnel training quality, etc. The seminar invited Pro. Chang Jianhua of NKU and Pro. Zhang Xiaochuan of SUST as the special guest, to share their experience of textbook compilation.
Pro. Chang gave a report named “An attempt to construct a series of textbooks on Chinese social history”. In this report, Pro. Chang reviews the course of the construction of a series of textbooks on Chinese social history in Nankai University, and introduced some textbooks in NKU, such as “Outline of Chinese social History Studies”, “Introduction to Chinese Social History” by Feng Erkang, “Outline of Chinese social History research in the New Era”, “A History of Chinese Daily Life”, “An Study of the History of Chinese Rural Society. Then he discussed some understandings of compiling textbooks of Chinese social history. He points that the foundation of textbook writing is the review of academic history. Classic works is the key of building systematic knowledge. He suggests it’s necessary to combine students' self-study with teachers' teaching, and he emphasizes the importance of inheritance & innovation of textbook compilation.
