In December 2018, the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Nankai University and the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy of Cambridge University signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build the CAMLiNK Station.

CAMLiNK Station is an open cooperation platform providing space and full support to, but not limited to, the teachers, students (including undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, and postdoctoral students), and Cambridge alumni from the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, Department of Engineering, Cavendish Laboratory to come to Nankai University for exchanges and cooperation. The establishment of the workstation will provide a platform for future exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in scientific research, exchange visits of teachers and students, joint academic seminars and joint student training.
