Professor Su's research primarily focuses on the development of transition metal-catalysis, asymmetric synthesis, and the synthesis of natural product molecules and pharmaceutical compounds. He has served as a young editorial board member for internationally renowned journals such as Tetrahedron and Tetrahedron Letters. As the first or corresponding author, he has published numerous papers in prestigious chemistry journals, including Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. He has also been recognized in a national-level youth talent program.
Established in 1999, the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award is presented annually to researchers in the early stage of their independent academic careers. Winners are selected exclusively by editorial board members of Synthesis, Synlett and Synfacts. The award is amied at recongnizing and encouring young researchers in chemical synthesis, catalysis or other fields closely related to organic chemistry.
