2.Introduction
Wan Guohua, the Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Nankai University Law School, and Corporate Governance Research Institute of Nankai University. Since 1987, he has studied and worked in the Institute of Economics of Nankai University, the Institute of International Economic Law, the Department of Finance, the Law School and the China Institute of Corporate Governance. He has obtained a master of law and a doctor in management.
Professor Wan has published 20 works in the press such as Tsinghua University Press, written 76 papers, and presided over more than 20 works including the National Social Science Project. He is Standing Director of the Institute of Securities Law of China Law Society(CLS), Standing Director of the Institute of Banking Law of CLS, President of Commercial Law Branch of Tianjin Law Society(TLS), Vice President of the Economic Law Branch of TLS, Director of the China Society of International Economic Law, Standing Director of the Business Law Research Society of the CLS, Director of the Economic Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society, Consulting expert of Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress, Member of Tianjin Haihe Industrial Fund Management Committee, Arbitrator of the Tianjin Arbitration Commission.
In 2004, Professor Wan was awarded the first outstanding young and middle-aged jurist in Tianjin and the “Market-oriented Construction of the Board of Supervisors of State-owned Enterprises” won the third prize of “Essay for Improving the Socialist Market Economy Legal System” of China Law Society. The article “No Need to introduce Independent Directors in China” won the third prize of Tianjin Social Science in 2005. In 2006, “On China’s Careful Introduction of the Independent Director System” won the second prize of the 11th Excellent Social Science Achievements of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. In 2006, Economic Law won the university-level excellent course of Nankai University. The 2007 research report “Research on Tianjin” won the third prize of Excellent Research Achievements of National Development and Reform Commission. In 2007, he won the first “Good Teacher and Benefit Friends” award of Nankai University.
In 2008, “Research on Tianjin Legal System of Tianjin Housing Exchange” won the first prize of the Fifth Excellent Research Results of Education and Health Working Committee of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee. In 2008, “Research on Tianjin Legal System of Homestead Housing” won the second prize of research results of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. In 2008, “Research on the Legal System of Homestead Housing” won the Social Science Research Award of Nankai University. In 2009, “IMF Governance Structure and Governance Mechanism” under the Background of the Financial Crisis won the third prize of Excellent Paper of Chinese Law Society. In 2015, he was named the Nankai University News Publicity 2015 Influential People.
