2. Introduction
Hu Xuyu is the Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Nankai University School of Law. He received the Bachelor’s degree of Engineering majoring in Transportation Management Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, LL.M. from Dalian Maritime University majoring in International Maritime and Admiralty Law, and J.D. from Tsinghua University majoring in civil and commercial law. He has been to University of Queensland Law School in Australia for international training, and has worked in Qingdao Port Authority, Ministry of Communications as a Divisional and Senior Engineer.
Professor Hu presided over provincial and ministerial research projects, including Ministry of Justice National Research Project on Rule of Law and Legal Theory: The Construction of Chinese Port Operators’ Liability System under the <Rotterdam Rules> (November 2016) and “Research on the Legislation of Liability of Carriers of International Carriage of Goods by Sea” (December 2007). Professor Hu has won the Teaching and Research Award in Nankai University “Excellent Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences Research” (June 2014), Nankai University “Excellent Achievement Award of Humanities and Social Sciences Research” (September 2017).
