2. Introduction
Shi Wei, Distinguished Professor of Nankai University Law School. He served as a judge in Xintai City Court, Shandong Province since 1988. In 1993, he went to the School of Law of Renmin University of China for master’s degree of law. He then took up a lectureship at Shandong University Law School in 1996. From September 2000 to August 2001, he worked as a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Center for International Law in Cambridge. In 2002, he carried out visiting research at the International Law Center at the University of Brussels (ULB). He obtained his PhD from St John’s College, Cambridge in July 2007. In September of 2007, he was a lecturer at the Law School of Bangor University, teaching on Contract Law, Private International Law, WTO Law and International Commercial Arbitration Law and in September 2012, he was promoted to professor.
During studying in the UK, Professor Shi served as Vice Chairman of the Chinese Students Scholars Association of Cambridge (2002-2004) and Vice Chairman of the UK Students and Scholars Association (2003-2004). During this period, he planned to establish the British Scholar, and served as the founding chief editor (2003-2005). From 2002 to 2004, he served as a columnist for the 21st Century Global Herald and the 21st Century Business Herald.
Professor Shi’s recent research findings were published in the American Business Law Journal, University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law, Wisconsin International Law Journal, North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation. His monograph, “Intellectual Property in the Global Trading System: EU-China Perspective”, was published by Springer in Germany.
The research results have been frequently cited in many world-leading law journals in recent years, including Harvard International Law Journal, American Journal of Comparative Law, European Intellectual Property Review, WIPO Journal, Chicago Journal of International Law, and Columbia Journal of Asian Law.
He also irregularly serves as peer reviewer for renowned international publishers and academic journals.
