On the afternoon of June 18, Professor Shen Kui, a well-known public law scholar, giving a lecture on The prohibition of Improper Association of punishment of Social Credit. This lecture was hosted by Professor Song Hualin, Associate Dean of Nankai University School of Law.
Professor Fu Shicheng, Professor Yan Erbao, Professor Tu Zhenyu, Associate Professor Li Ruiyi, Associate Professor Wang Ruixue, Dr Jia Zhuowei, Dr Sun Jingchao, Dr Liu Ancui, Professor Jia Shengzhen and Professor Li Ang and Many students of Nankai University law school attended the lecture.
Professor Shen Kui analyzes the essence of the principle of prohibiting improper connection, and points out that the principle of prohibiting improper connection requires that the exercise of public power must be substantially related to the people’s efforts.
He put forward a number of quite constructive jurisprudential thinking and system reform proposals. Professor Fu Shicheng points out that the definition of breach of trust is wide. Yang Jie, a doctoral student at Nankai University, questioned the theoretical basis and necessity of the joint punishment for breach of trust. Professor Shen responded to questions from both teachers and students.
Finally, Professor Song Hualin made a summary, thanked Professor Shen Kui for his wonderful lecture and welcomed Professor Shen Kui to Nankai University law school at his convenience.
