On Oct. 23rd 2021, the 2021 Annual Conference of the Civil Law Society of Chinese Law Society was held, hosted by the Civil Law Society of Chinese Law Society and organized by the Law School of Shanxi University. The theme of conference was “The Application of the Civil Code and Related Judicial Interpretations”.
The morning session was devoted to keynote speeches, chaired by Professor Wang Yi, and delivered by Professors Guo Feng, Wang Liming, Cui Jianyuan, Yang Lixin, Zhang Xinbao, Chen Xiaojun, Liu Shiguo, Li Yongjun, Wen Shiyang, Ma Xinyan, Tan Qiping and Meng Qinguo.
In the afternoon, there were seven parallel sessions: Session 1 on the application of the General Provisions of the Civil Code and related judicial interpretations, Session 2 on the application of the Property Rights of the Civil Code and related judicial interpretations, Session 3 on the application of the Contracts of the Civil Code and related judicial interpretations, Session 4 on the application of the Personality Rights of the Civil Code and related judicial interpretations, Session 5 on the application of the Marriage and Family, Inheritance and related judicial interpretations of the Civil Code, session 6 was on the application Tort Liability of the Civil Code and related judicial interpretations, and session 7 was a special session for post-80s youth.
A total of 85 scholars presented and 27 scholars talked in the session. Post-80s session added this year was the first of its kind in the annual meeting of the China Civil Law Society, reflecting the style and vitality of young Chinese civil law scholars.
Professor Chen Yaodong and Associate Professor Zhang Zhipo were invited to attend the conference. In session 2, Prof. Chen Yaodong gave a presentation on “The Development of the Registration of the Right of Residence in the Perspective of the Function of Protection”, and Associate Prof. Zhang Zhipo gave a presentation on “The Rechtsdogmatik Proof of the Property Right of Land Management” in the Post-80s Youth session.
The annual meeting of the China Civil Law Society is the highest academic platform for civil law in China, where scholars have conducted systematic and in-depth research and discussions on the Civil Code and civil law theory from multiple levels and perspectives. The annual conference received a total of 79 papers with approximately 2 million words.The annual conference was a great success.
