After the application recommendation, qualification audit, comprehensive investigation, proposed appointment public notice and other procedures, Professor Liu Shixin, Professor Yang Wenge, Professor Wang Qiangjun, Professor Yan Erbao from Nankai University Law School were appointed as procuratorial hearing officers. Among them, Prof. Liu Shixin was appointed by the Tianjin Municipal People's Procuratorate; Prof. Yang Wenge, Prof. Wang Qiangjun was appointed by the First Branch of the Tianjin Municipal People's Procuratorate; Prof. Yan Erbao was appointed as a hearing officer as well as an invited assistant prosecutor by the Tianjin Jinnan District People's Procuratorate.
The public selection of hearing officers, especially the selection of grass-roots representatives and professionals in law, medicine, economics, science, engineering and other fields to the hearing officers pool, is one of the important initiatives to the city's judicial system. Such acts could implement the prosecution hearing system, promote judicial openness, safeguard judicial justice and enhance judicial credibility.
