Higher Innovation Capability Plan" (the "2011 Plan") is another national project led by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Finance (MOF) after “985 Project” and “211 Project”, aiming at promoting innovation ability of China’s higher learning institutions collaboratively. After multilevel assessment and social publicity, Collaborative Innovation Center for China Economy (CICCE) was voted to be approved by MOE in October, 2014. It has been the only economic collaborative innovation center so far.The core collaborative units of CICCE are Nankai University, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and National Bureau of Statistics of China. CICCE aims to cultivate the innovation patterns and capacity of leading Chinese higher education institutions by funding them establish coordinative innovation platforms together with other Chinese or overseas institutions, organizations and industries.
CICCE vigorously strengthens foreign academic cooperation and exchange, and constantly encourages Chinese economics to reach out to the world. Relying on international cooperation projects such as “Overseas Strategic Partner Program”, CICCE carries out substantial cooperation with international high-level universities and research institutions to attract international leading innovative forces and resources, builds international collaborative innovation platform and explore new mechanism and pattern of introducing talents. Meanwhile, CICCE widely promotes, illustrates and elucidates the theories of China Economy, making international academic world better understand Chinese economic and social development. CICCE encourages researchers to deliver lectures to some overseas universities and research institutions, actively invites overseas scholars to take part in its academic researches, holds corresponding academic seminar and special forums in foreign countries designedly, reinforces contacts with international well-known think tank and research institutions and conducts various types of academic exchanges to strive for the right of saying at a commanding height and elucidate accurately China Economy and its significance on world economic development.
CICCE has established overseas research institution and set up “Joint Graduate Scholl” in University of Glasgow. CICCE carries out deep cooperation in fields such as talent cultivation, collaborative research, academic exchanges and policy consultancy, energetically explores international cooperation, thus enlarging the strength and international influence of CICCE. Based on existing cooperation, CICCE actively goes out, and plans to set up overseas research institution in University of Hawaii and Yale University. At present, CICCE has established favourable basis for cooperation in two universities.
Fully depending on overseas research institution and according to the requirements of “urgent need in China and first class in the world”, CICCE endeavors to become the world-class innovative new highland and think tank for Chinese economics, and important and creative talent cultivation center for china economy, which integrates talent cultivation, scientific research, social services and discipline construction together.
