He pointed out that the School of Journalism and Communication always regards talents as the primary resource, attaches equal importance to introduction and education of talents, and strives to create a good ecosystem for attracting new liberal arts talents through the mutual learning of literature and art, the crossing of literature and science, and the integration of literature and engineering, in order to promote the sound development of the Journalism and Communication as disciplines. Liu said he hoped all teachers and students would grasp the opportunity to deepen understanding, bring into full play the brainstorming, and make gains from forum exchanges.

Vice President Chen Peng introduced the development of the school to attendees from aspects such as discipline history, educational philosophy, talent cultivation, disciplines and majors, faculty, and platform think tanks.

Young scholars from the ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong, EastChinaNormalUniversity, and Communication University of China gave academic presentations. After briefing the audience their academic background, research and work experience, main research achievements, and future work plans, they made thematic reports based on their representative achievements, and engaged in in-depth discussions with teachers and students on cutting-edge academic issues and specific research methods.

After the meeting, the school invited young scholars to have a tour of the Jinnan campus, particularly the library, to help scholars have a further understanding of the campus in all aspects. The scholars said they were impressed by the academic atmosphere of the school and looking forward to working at the university one day.

This is the first time that the school has held a subforum on journalism and communication, and received applications from 30 potential participants. The school is confident that it will attract more outstanding scholars from home and abroad to learn about and choose the school by relying on the NKU International Talent Forum, and also hopes to continue to host the subforum as a signature activity for recruiting talents, carrying out academic exchanges, and effectively building the school’s pool of talents.
