Zengqiang Chen received the B.E. degree from School of Mathematical Sciences, Nankai University in 1987 and the M.S and the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control from Nankai University in 1990 and 1997, respectively. He joined Nankai University in 1990. He won the Shanghai Baosteel Education Award (the first prize for teachers) in 2000 and was selected into the Supported by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University in 2005. Now, he is a full professor and Ph.D. supervisor of the Department of Automation, College of Artificial Intelligence of Nankai University. His research interests include active disturbance rejection control(ADRC), model predictive control(MPC), intelligent control and intelligent optimization computing, multi-agent systems, complex networks, logical system control, etc. His research got more than 20 foundation or project supports from the National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial or ministry level foundations, and national defense or enterprise cooperation projects. He has won five government scientific technology awards include Tianjin Natural Scientific Awards, Science Technology Award from National Education Ministry, and other government ministry. He has authored and co-authored over 300 journal papers including more than 30 papers in IEEE Transactions, Automatic or System & Control Letters.
