The College of Artificial Intelligence, Nankai University, was established at the Second World Intelligence Conference on May 16, 2018. There are two undergraduate majors, intelligent science and technology, and automation in the college. Both majors are national first-class construction points of undergraduate major, in which, the undergraduate major of intelligent science and technology ranks third in the Chinese University Ranking in 2021 and gets an A + discipline.

The College of Artificial Intelligence won the second prize of National Technological Invention Award as early as 2002. The recent achievements include Professor Zhang Juanjuan’s first author paper ,in Science Journal, the "Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progress of China's Intelligent Manufacturing in 2018" and the first batch of 17 robotic cloned pigs in the world from Professor Zhao Xin's team, "Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progress of China's Intelligent Manufacturing in 2019" for the key technology and system integration of intelligent industrial hoisting mechanism from Professor Fang Yongchun's team, which makes Nankai University the only university in China, selected into the Top 10 Scientific and Technological Progress of Intelligent Manufacturing for the two consecutive years. Professor Fang Yongchun's team also won the first prize of the 7th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Natural Science Award, the 5th Chen Hanfu Award and the first prize of Tianjin Natural Science in 2018.

The College of Artificial Intelligence focuses on cultivating the scientific research innovation and practical ability of the students. Lu Biao won the National College Student of the year in 2020, the gold medal of the Internet + Innovation Competition in 2019. Wu Yiming, et. al. won the 11th China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2018, the 15th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition. Their team was selected as the "Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Team" of the college students, which is a project supported by China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award Fund.

The College of Artificial Intelligence has successively established collaborations with other universities in the United States, Britain, France, Japan, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany and other countries or regions, by using the international innovation and talent introduction base of robot intelligent perception, control and application. These long-term international cooperation include cooperative research, joint training, academic visiting and exchanging, and participation in world competitions, and so on.Artificial intelligence, like mathematics and computers in the history of human civilization, will comprehensively affect the human process. Now the world has entered the age of artificial intelligence. The College of Artificial Intelligence, Nankai University will enter the comprehensive development in discipline construction, talent training, theoretical innovation, technological breakthrough and application demonstration. We will build our college into the first-class bases in the field of artificial intelligence for talent training and scientific and technological innovation.
