Prof. Douglas Baker, President of Northern Illinois University, paid a visit to Nankai University on March 22nd. Gong Ke, President of Nankai University, met the delegation at Balitai Campus’ Service Building.
The leaders of the two universities discussed the possibility of cooperation in different areas, such as student and faculty exchanges, think tank construction, and joint degree programs. After the meeting, Prof. Baker discussed the development of joint degree programs with the staff of the College of Economic and Social Development.
Established in 1895, Northern Illinois University is a renowned comprehensive university in north central USA. NIU’s program in City Management & Urban Policy is ranked 3rd in the nation and the Public Finance & Budgeting program at 12th.
Prof. Liu Binglian, Assistant to the President and Dean of the College of Economics and Social Development, and the staff of the Office for International Academic Exchanges attended the meeting.
