The Department of Accounting is one of the earliest established departments at Nankai University. It aims to provide students with professional knowledge, skills, and ethics for future career success, and delivers a variety of courses in accounting for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs.
As for the teaching staff in the Department of Accounting, their main research fields are corporate finance, capital market and accounting, financial accounting theories and methods, judgment and decision making in accounting and auditing, auditing theories and methods, and corporate governance, etc. these faculty members have made numerous academic achievements: they co-hosted one Key Project of the l Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), 11 NSFC projects and other 12 provincial level projects. They have published over 100 research papers on high-level journals at home and abroad, 20 teaching materials and treatises. Besides, they have won many awards, such as the Outstanding Achievements Prize on Humanities and Social Sciences among Chinese Universities and the Outstanding Achievements Prize on Social Sciences Research in Tianjin.
The department's courses for undergraduate program were accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). And some were accredited by the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA) as part of the courses for CGA examination.
